I am so glad to know that I am not losing my mind. I have been reading this blog and was amazed of how many people were suffering the same pain I have.I have been browsing the web for almost a year trying to find a name for what I have been feeling. Finally, today I came across "flank pain", this is how I got to this website. I have been having left side pains for a while. I cannot lay down on my left side for long periods, I feel pressure and tenderness in the left area under my ribs. It feels very sensitive. I recently visited an orthopedist, got a MRI of my spine. He said that everything was normal in that area, and to sleep on my right side...??? I had a partial hysterectomy 4 years ago and I had removal of the right ovary a year ago/ endiometriosis with other complications. After the I recovered from the surgery a year ago, I felt great. The pain started after I went back to work. I have not had symptoms related to the kidney as others have mentioned. Hopefully we can figure out soon what really causes this type of pain. Thanks for sharing!

Hi! I have been following your story as I have the same issue. Going on 10 months of pain. Going to the chiropractor for 6 months and trying to get in to see an orthopedic doctor. Would be very interested in knowing where you are at with your pain and recovery. Thank you!

Hi I just came across your blog and want to thank you for having one it's very generous of you to share your story...
I hope you reach a pain free life. My husband is suffering from flank pain as well and like you we been to several doctors and they have no answers for us it is quite frustrating because they make us feel that he must be making it up since his issue doesn't appear in their black & white diagnosis world they need to realize there are grey areas in medicine as well as life he like you he is seeing a pain specialist and has had spinal blocks and has had no luck with it... His issue is only when he sits down for more than 15min but good news we believe he is now in physical therapy and she found a large bump on rib 10 so for the first time we now know there is something that should not be there we think.. wo we'll see what happens with this just wanted to share and I will research SRS thank you again and I wish you good luck in you finally obtaining a pain free life
